Description

Pigeon Island is the symbol of Kusadasi. The island is a place of birds during seasonal migrations, which is why it was called Bird Island.

The island is one of the best places to enjoy the panoramic view of the beautiful city and watch the sunset. There are also various plants and animals here. You can see and photograph endemic plants. Especially if you're interested in photography and botany, Pigeon Island is the right place for you. Since Pigeon Island offers a unique view, you can take perfect photos at any time of the day. Many endemic plants accompany your beautiful view photos. One of the endemic plants is Allium Commutatum and the other endemic plant is Sternbergia Lutea. These flowers bloom every year in November. Since these flowers are endemic plants, they shouldn't be damaged. So please don't pick flowers. Use them only for photos or smelling. There are rabbits, peacocks and squirrels on Pigeon Island. The municipality of Kusadasi feeds these animals.

Pigeon Island has a historic castle planted with greenery. The history of the castle dates back to the Byzantines. It got its final form during the Ottoman Empire, and the Ottomans used this castle to repel attacks from other islands. You can also visit the whale skeleton that was found in the castle in 1998. This kind of whale is rarely seen on the coast of our country, so it became the focus of great attention. You can also have a drink and a meal in one of the cafes near the island, enjoying the scenery.  You can walk there from the city center or use public transportation. Number 5 minibusses are going to Pigeon Island. The entrance to Pigeon Island opens at 8 am and closes at 9 pm.  Before visiting Pigeon Island, you should wear sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen.

In addition, you can see various vendors for the boat trips and book a reservation for the tour at the Pigeon Island entrance. They have sunset tours and bay tours. For more information, can contact us.
